Ryan A. Vogt-Lowell joined Elkins Kalt in 2021, after nearly 14 years of serving as General Counsel of Nexus Companies, a privately-owned real estate development company in Orange County.  As General Counsel, Ryan provided leadership and practical guidance and direction over all aspects of the company’s legal affairs, with a focus on the acquisition, entitlement, development, financing, construction, management, ownership and disposition of a diverse portfolio of real estate projects, including luxury senior living facilities, hotels, retail centers, and residential projects.

Prior to Nexus Companies, Ryan began his legal career as a real estate and finance attorney with Latham & Watkins, LLP in Orange County.

Ryan’s broad-based real estate practice includes a wealth of experience and knowledge in acquisitions and dispositions; development, design and construction; financing (including senior secured, mezzanine, and preferred equity financing); private equity offerings; joint ventures; capital stack and deal structuring; leasing; hospitality management and franchise agreements; and senior living management and operations agreements.

Vivante on the Coast, a ground-up, award-winning, luxury senior living community in Costa Mesa, containing 256 licensed assisted living units and 40 licensed memory care units.

Cambria Hotels & Suites/The Gateway Anaheim Resort, a ground-up, mixed-used hotel and retail project consisting of a 12-story, 352-room Cambria Hotel & Suites hotel and adjoining retail center near Disneyland.

Vespera on Ocean, a ground-up, 124-room Marriott Autograph Collection beachfront hotel in downtown Pismo Beach.

Hampton Inn/Homewood Suites by Hilton Long Beach Airport, a ground-up, 241-room dual-branded Hilton hotel near Long Beach Municipal Airport.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim Resort-Convention Center, a ground-up, 190-room Hilton hotel near Disneyland and the Anaheim Convention Center.

Skyline at MacArthur Place, a ground-up, high-rise residential project consisting of twin 25-story towers containing 348 luxury residences.

Vivante Newport Center, a ground-up, 99-unit, luxury senior living community in Fashion Island in Newport Beach.
