Marco Ornelas Lopez advises individuals, developers, investors, and business owners through all phases of the land use entitlement and environmental review process. He has successfully assisted applicants in securing complex project approvals, navigating administrative appeals before planning commissions and city councils, and resolving legal challenges under CEQA. His practice includes advising on zoning, general plan amendments, coastal development permits, and project-specific mitigation measures.

Drawing on his municipal background, Marco brings deep insight into local government operations and decision-making. He has extensive experience negotiating with and for public agencies, evaluating the impacts of public works projects on private businesses, and ensuring businesses receive fair compensation in eminent domain and inverse condemnation matters. His work also includes representing clients in government-related claims and mediations, and he has served as trial counsel in both state and federal court.

Marco is a member of the Urban Land Institute and collaborates with other professionals shaping the future of urban development in California. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking traditional Mexican food and exploring contemporary art.
