Anat Simantob is an attorney in the Estate Planning Department where she assists high net worth individuals and families, business owners, fiduciaries, and charitable organizations with a broad spectrum of estate planning issues, including tax planning, probate and trust administration, conservatorships, guardianships and dispute resolution.

In the wealth transfer tax area, Anat’s experience includes drafting and implementing sales to defective grantor trusts, as well as other value freezing techniques, structuring sophisticated generation-skipping transfer tax plans, handling all aspects of trust administration, preparing federal estate and gift tax returns, and forming and operating private foundations.

In the area of fiduciary litigation, Anat handles complex estate, gift, generation-skipping and fiduciary income tax issues. Additionally, she assists clients with claims against trustees and personal representatives, and defends trustees and personal representatives against such claims. She also advises clients with respect to will and trust contests -- from mediation to arbitration to trial.

Anat regularly counsels clients with net wealth exceeding $50 million and portfolios with a wide variety of assets, including real estate, art, closely-held business interests, and intellectual property.
